Synopsis: A mother and daughter are shocked when an unexpected visitor comes to their door.
This film was shot in the Fall of 2003. Using a 16mm Bolex camera and only a few lights, director
Brendan Raher creates a story that is both thrilling and visually enticing.
With the help of Ben Lopata, Brendan secured filming rights in the Presidio of San Francisco to film the
exteriors of the house. The interiors were all shot on a separate day in a completely different city.
JP Sekulich, Ramsey Raher, Amber Lopata (Ben's Wife), and Natalie Pollak all helped out during this shoot.
What makes Once A Year so fascinating is that this was Brendan's first short movie using the film format.
